Why this initiative?
“When parents tell me they hesitate to sign their child up for football, I know it is time to act. With Contrepied, I want to protect what makes this game strong: the joy of playing, respect and passing it on.” Laure Boulleau
So common it starts to feel normal
Football has the power to lift people up and bring them together, on the pitch and in society. But today, it is being tarnished by violence.
On the pitch, in the stands, between supporters, between players, towards referees: physical and verbal violence has become so common it ends up looking normal, in professional clubs and on grassroots pitches alike.
Contrepied refuses to let violence settle in: so that everyone who loves this game can find a football at peace with itself.
The founder
Laure Boulleau
Trained at Clairefontaine, Laure Boulleau spent thirteen seasons at Paris Saint-Germain: two Champions League finals, two French Cups. With the national team, sixty-five caps, two World Cups, a European Championship and the London Olympics.
Since 2018, she has been one of the voices of football on Canal+. From the touchline to the TV studio, she sees the same pattern: referees walking away, coaches burning out, parents crossing into insults and aggression. That double perspective, the former player and the pundit who watches, analyses and comments on football every week, is what led her to found Contrepied.
